The Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Project's pioneering approaches are raising many thousands of farmers and landless men and women out of poverty. The Project's work shows just how much can be done when agricultural development takes advantage of market opportunities, works with existing village, district and state institutions and aligns with government policies.
MPRLP works to eliminate rural poverty by empowering rural households in nine mainly tribal districts of the state. MPRLP takes a bottom-up approach, facilitating, inspiring and guiding community-driven collective and individual action to reduce poverty through Gram Sabhas (village councils).
