Buenaventura Aribau was born in 1798.
He was a Catalan economist and
writer.
He was the founder of the Catalan society PHILOSOPHY.
He was a
member of the Academy of Bones Lletres since 1820 and founded together with
Ramon Lopez Soler the magazine of the European literary panorama in 1823.
His best work is the poem La
Patria (1833), which is considered the beginning of the Catalan literary revival.
He died in 1862.
