Modified Assignment IMIM M1
ESC, Lille 08-09 (Sem.
2 2009)
Techniques for Visual Presentation — Luc MARTIN
Create one visual document in two parts which you will have to gather in a
PDF file at the end.
Using text, images illustrating your point (PART 1 your illustrated
analysis) and images you created for the packaging (PART 2 the steps you
used and the final result).
Compose your document so that the result should look like a whole
with a cover (where your avatar and your email appear)
Put page numbers (except on the cover).
Check your spelling and the ends of lines so that they don’t end in a silly way.
French or English as you wish.
By the end of the 8th of May (maximum dead line)
1 > Analysis
In InDesign, write a text explaining what visual mecanisms can be used to improve
visual communication.
It will explain what you think/feel about text, typographic
elements, visual elements, pictures, others.
.
.
Add corresponding illustrations inside your text .
(a bit like in the “15 presentation laws” but put YOUR text and use images of
others like graphic artists/advertisers’ creations)
Minimum number of pages : 4
2 > Packaging = 3 possibilities
a/ copy an existing one, (it can be based on the Bionicle exercice
we did in class).
b/ re-use the one you did with Belinda Picaud (Fair Trade)
(even if you were not the one dealing with the making of the images),
c/ invent one
(from scratch or from an existing brand, whichever — you can even modify
the brand if you wish)
It can be circular (like the labels for a bottle for instance)
or a 3-D box (i.
e.
like for a shoe box).
Your work will have to use several steps
of the graphic design process
